Forehead Lift Surgery

Brow Lift Surgery is a permanent solution against Forehead Wrinkles by repositioning the brow line to its ideal position

How it works

Brow Lift is performed with two different methods, open and endoscopic, where is the method most commonly used by Doctor Konstantinos Benetatos. All methods include the detachment of the forehead tissues, their rehabilitation and stabilization at a higher point until their full healing occurs.

Why Choose Brow Lift?

The fall of the forehead area over time can lead to a drop of eyebrows that will partially cover the area of the eyelids, thus giving a "tired" or "sad" face to the face. As a result of this, the forehead acquires several wrinkles as it attempts to keep the eyebrow area upright. This surgery can correct these changes by lifting and changing the shape of the eyebrow, where necessary.

PRE-TREATMENT PREPARATION

A complete medical history should be taken before each surgery. As a precautionary measure, doctors without prescription or herbal products / drugs should not be taken before surgery and for 3 days afterwards. Also, strict non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs such as salospir, ibuprofen (Nurofen), diclofenac and any other anticoagulant or antiplatelet therapy should always be avoided, always with the treating physician. It would also be very helpful to bring a list of any prescription medicines you receive for your preoperative control..

If you are a smoker try to quit smoking at least six weeks before and after a surgery, as this will dramatically reduce the chance of post-operative complications.

Technique

Open Brow Lift
This classic technique involves removing the excess skin behind the hairline when it is pulled up. Although this technique has excellent results, it is considered obsolete as it has a longer recovery and recovery time and leaves a big scar that is still hidden inside the hair. Certainly, there are still specific indications of its use, which will be discussed with Mr. Benetato during your session.

Endoscopic Brow Lift
Endoscopic Forehead Recovery is also the state-of-the-art technique. Small holes are used on the skin ("keyhole surgery") behind the hair line, through which a surgery is performed with the help of an endoscope. The area of the forehead is raised and retained with special sutures while the skin and underlying hanging tissues heal.

Recovery

Patients may be treated as a daily hospitalization or ask to stay in the hospital for one night. Wound dressing and stitches.

Although the recovery time varies from person to person, however, patients should be given a period of at least one to two weeks to fully recover. Most patients feel comfortable enough during the first week and all they probably keep away from their work is the bruising and swelling that will appear.

Patients usually feel able to travel within three days and swim in ten to four days (if they have fully recovered), while vigorous exercise (aerobic exercise, etc.) should be avoided for four weeks.

On the first day you have to relax and rest, either in the hospital or at home. From the second to fifth day (2-5) you can get up and move, however your eyes and your forehead will have a slight swelling that will be evident. From the fifth to the fourteenth day (5-14) the sutures will be removed and most of the swelling and bruising will recede. From now on, you will start to feel much better. After ten days, you will be able to start a mild exercise gradually increasing the volume. From the third week onwards you will almost return to your normal pace.

Patients should avoid driving until they are completely relieved of pain and feeling of restraint, so they are perfectly able to make a sudden movement, such as direct braking, unobstructed and painless. This is suggested for patients to secure coverage from their insurance company. It may take up to two weeks for their full recovery.

Postoperative Monitoring
Your incisions will be checked and the second postoperative day will be changed. The suture removal will take place on the fifth and eighth postoperative day, and a meeting with Mr. Konstantinos Benetatos is advisable after three months and then one year later. There will be no extra charge for any monitoring associated with your surgery. Final Outcome of the Operation
Immediately after surgery the eyebrows will be higher than expected, and will begin to take the final, desired position during the first few weeks, continuing to improve over the next three months.
